Making your worksheet…

Sheet code: –

Type the code printed on a sheet to get the same sheet back, with its answers.

How it works

  1. Choose the operation and the size of the numbers: □□□ + □□□ means two three-digit numbers.
  2. Under More options choose regrouping or remainders, how many problems, and whether to print the grid.
  3. Print the sheet. The answer key gives every result, with the partial products of each multiplication and every step of the long division.

Why grid paper helps

Most mistakes in written math come from digits that drift out of their column. The grid keeps ones under ones and tens under tens, until children line them up on their own.

Multi-digit multiplication

For 47 × 23 the answer key shows the two partial products, 141 and 940, and their sum. Each worksheet type also has its own page: column addition, column subtraction, multi-digit multiplication and long division.

Questions and answers

Why use grid paper?

Each digit gets its own square, so columns stay straight. You can switch the grid off under More options if your child already writes neatly.

How hard are the problems?

You choose: from two-digit sums to four-digit numbers divided by two-digit divisors. Multipliers use the digits 2 to 9, so every partial product is worth working out.
